We may collect personal information when you: sign in to ValePub; create a public player handle; confirm that pub information is accurate; suggest an update; add a venue; contact us directly. This information may include: your email address; your chosen public handle; your points, grade and contribution history; your name, where you choose to provide it; information included in a venue submission or update; supporting links or evidence you provide; basic technical information needed to operate and protect the website.
Please do not include sensitive personal information in venue descriptions, notes or submissions.
We use personal information to: send sign-in verification codes; operate your ValePub player profile; record and recognise contributions; review proposed changes and new venue submissions; prevent misuse, spam and duplicate submissions; respond to questions or requests; maintain and improve ValePub.
Your public handle, grade, points and contribution totals may appear on the public ValePub scoreboard. Your email address and real name are not displayed on the scoreboard.
We generally use personal information because it is necessary for our legitimate interests in operating, improving and protecting ValePub and maintaining useful local venue information. Where you actively choose to create an account or submit information, we may also rely on your consent where appropriate. You can stop using your account or ask us to remove your personal information at any time, subject to any information we need to retain for legal, security or record-keeping reasons.
Most information shown about pubs and venues concerns businesses and publicly accessible places rather than private individuals. Venue information may come from: venue owners or representatives; pub-goers and local contributors; official venue websites and social accounts; publicly available business and mapping sources. We review submissions before publication, but we cannot guarantee that every detail will always be complete or current.
We use trusted service providers to host and operate the website, store information, send sign-in emails and process submissions. These may include services such as Webflow, Cloudflare, Airtable and an email-delivery provider. They process information only as needed to provide their services to us and are subject to their own security and privacy obligations. We do not sell personal information to advertisers.
We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purposes described in this notice. Account and contribution information may be retained while your player profile remains active. Venue submissions and update records may be kept as part of the history needed to understand, verify and manage published information.You can ask us to close your player profile or delete personal information associated with it.
ValePub may use essential browser storage to keep you signed in and remember your session. We may also use basic website analytics to understand how the site is being used. Where non-essential cookies or similar technologies require consent, we will ask before using them.
